January

Our first competition for 2011 was an unaffiliated dressage competition (and our very first dressage comp!) competing in Prelim 10. Jack was a very good boy apart from putting in a flying change across the long diagonal (doh!) but we finished with a score of 64.09% and came 4th!

February

February we were out competing in unaff dressage again, this time Prelim 12 and Novice 20! :eeek: The prelim test went really well and we finished with a score of 65.6% which I was very happy with and we came 5th of around 20 entries! The novice test went nearly as well (in my mind, considering we had only ever done 2 tests beforehand!) and we finished with a respectable 62.4% and the judge said it was a smooth test with potential! :)

March

In March we had a go at our first 2’9ft SJ course. I used the 2’6ft as a warm up and unfortunately we got a bit too close to the second part of the double and rolled it but Jack was super in the 2’9ft and we finished the round clear! :D

April

Our first ODE of the year, unaff 80cm at Bicton.

Dressage – 32.5%
SJ – 4 faults
XC – clear!
We were awarded 8th place :D

May

In May, Jack was a very lucky lad and got a brand new made to measure saddle.

We also went to a local show, placing 3rd in the M&M inhand class and 4th in Novice WH.

June

In june we entered another ODE but the weather was ridiculous hot and the ground so hard, we competed in the dressage and withdrew from SJ and XC. We got 33.2%.

We also went to the NPS summer show and came 2nd in our first affiliated Novice M&M WH and 6th in Prelim 7 with 63%.

August

August and we were still out showing collecting lots of rosettes :)

September

We went to a small hunter trial to compete in the 70cm class as we had done very little XC over the year. The course was inviting, yet up-to-height, sharing its course with the 80cm. Jack jumped brilliantly and confidently and we finished 7th!

No photo from the HT so have included one of us XC schooling instead!

We also went back to Uni in September so competitions went on hold really.....

October

Jack’s schooling improved tremendously through October and we have now mastered leg yield which we were really struggling with!

Towards the end of October we competed in the NPS Autumn Show in M&M ridden classes but the standard was exceptionally high so we weren’t really looked at! Jack behaved impeccably though :)

November

November saw Jack being loose jumped for the first time and he did it like a pro!!

We also took part in our first affiliated BD competition, competing in Prelim 15. Jack spooked a bit at the judge’s box/table but apart from that went really well, bless him and we came 4th with 61.74%!

December

One last competition for the year with our second BD competition, riding Prelim 15 again. Jack was a super boy and didn’t spook at the judge’s box even though it was blaring out Christmas songs!! Lol He rode really well and we finished 1st in our section and 2nd overall :D:D with 64.78%!

Finally our last event of the year was going hunting Christmas eve. Jack was amazing, stood like a rock when needed and jumped all the jumps he was pointed at :) Unfortunately he lost a front shoe so had to head home and has had a week off but farrier has been out so we are ready to face the New Year now - bring it on! :D

Lovely report and photos thanks so much for sharing :) Jack looks gorgeous, I adore connies: we have two at the moment, one established eventing pony and one 6yo who we will bring out this season. Very best wishes for an exciting and successful 2012 with Jack :)
