I won't name him, works in Ethiopa for Brookes on occasion.Found two and half year old donkey, female with her feet so bad that the fetlocks were touching the ground!!! He bought her and has retired her to the vets mother who has some land after trimming her feet as well as he could. He showed me photos and told me "Don't tell people I have gone soft!!!".
He also told me another funny story. When he first started doing stints for Brookes he was told not to do anything for one person that he wasn't prepared to do for others. The rule was that the trainees all had to have boots on.Twelve turned up.Elen had boots and one had flip flops. He thought it a shame if he missed a days training so gave him a couple of quid to go to the local market and buy a pair of boots.
The next day he turned up in his boots and the other eleven came in flip flops!!!! He had to buy eleven more pairs of boots.
