India (5yrs TB, £450 from Ascot last Nov) and I (useless 'lettuce like' rider) entered our first event this weekend. It was the SJ/XC at Fairoak doing the 2ft3 class (first class we have ever done together).
We arrived and she was very chilled, munching hay and checking out the local talent! Warmed up (after several nerve induced ciggies) - was feeling a bit lively but managed a free walk and some nice trot! popped a few jumpies and she was getting a bit flighty, decided that here was not the place for schooling (too many ponies flying around) and went to stand and wait for my turn. I would have been thrilled with her even if she had knocked down the entire lot but only 4 faults later, grinning, we came out of the ring to a round of applause

Then the XC... a couple more ciggies later and I was back onboard and warming up for the XC, again didnt do too much, just popped a couple of logs and went to the start box. She flew round like a pro with me grinning like an idiot the whole way! Burst into tears of pride over the last and turned into a snot/sweat covered mess! All in all a fantastic day for both of us and only just pipped to the rossies
