Went along to Fife newcommers day - all on our ownsome:-( murphy no mates! Other girl decided hers was not fit enough at last minute, I was determined to go - so had to hire a trailer!
Was out for 3 and half hours - did think it was only to be about 2.
He was a star - soo pleased with him, stood when required no issues, had a snort or two when hounds were rally close to him. Only issue we had was that he got stronger and stronger!!!!!, head down between knees yanking and full gallop.
The idea was to get him thinking forward!, hope that this helps and will defo go out again, loverly meet with over 70 folk out at lease. Did not get really close to hounds working due to high numbers out, but still a lovely day. Didnt jump as we were head down mostly when cantering/galloping and also they were full up 2'9" which isnt high but we are only just jumping 2' 3" to 2'6", however did do a small ditch fine.
Not sure what to do about changing bit, was really struggling to keep his head up, think it was all a bit much strating and stopping, the starting was full pelt trot or gallop!!
He really loved it and prob has found his niche in life, so we shall see if it helps elsewhere in his training, but will defo go out again.
Was anyone else out yesterday - or today with Kingdom Draghounds - think we got the better weather!
really chuffef with my Moo
