Our first dressage test!

So Leo and I went out to our first proper competition yesterday!! eeek! I was so nervous (I havent really competed much in my time) and dressage I've only ever done 1 other test, so it was a big test on both of us!

Well I shouldnt have worried, Leo was a complete superstar, he had a bit of show energy which is exactly what I wanted as we 'lack impulsion' he went into the warm up and behaved like the gentleman he is, was off the leg and was happy with the other horses in there doing their thing (about 4/5 others).

Went in to do the test, he wasnt as relaxed as he had been in the warm up (we did a good giraffe impression) but its to be expected, but he just went really well for me, I was so pleased with him!!

We came pretty much last and wasnt placed but I didnt care! The judge wrote on my sheet 'calmly ridden' which I thought was quite nice as I am a quiet rider

Yep, that's where I thought! Lol only 15 minutes from me I braved blue barn for our first dressage test in December and really liked it there! May have to try bedgebury once madam is back in work

Nice isnt it! oh did you! I went to watch a friend compete there last year and it seemed ok, I quite like Saddlesdane the indoor school is lovely! yeah you should! altho the surface can upset some horses as its some new fangled surface, a livery wont take her horse there now as she tripped twice on two seperate occasions and went completely down! Leo seemed to be ok on it, altho we did slip slightly in the actual test at one point!
