Well two to be precise - we won twins!!!
Went to Vale View today to do Prelim 17 and Novice 28 after biting the bullet and joining BD this week. Had hoped to do the Prelim test first as a warm up but it didn't work out that way - so got up this morning at 5.30am
as first test was at 8.37am. Warmed up ok but was a little tight on entering the arena but she was good considering there were plant pots and banners everywhere as it was Area Festival. Did a reasonable test but some tightness stopped it from being as fluid as I would have liked. Didn't remotely care where I came or what I scored, but did go with the hope of winning our first point at our first BD. So I was pleased to see I had 62.09% and had come 4th.
I was pretty relaxed about the next test and decided to just enjoy it as I had acheived my objective. She was so much softer and let me ride her a little more. Idiot here was late in my first canter/trot transition but apart from that I was pleased with her - especially as she did not jog in the walk in either test -a problem that has plagued us in all our tests and have worked really hard on this. Was chuffed to find out I had come 2nd with 67.92% which is our best score to date.
Made up for the v. early start in thick fog
Really enjoyed the experience of BD and glad that I joined. Also saw some gorgeous horses today.
Couple of photos for you:
First one is Novice 28 - you can see the tightness and how short she can get in the neck. The indoor photos are the Prelim.
Don't have any photos of the twins - anyone know what they look like
Thanks for looking!
