Took Genie to our first showjumping competition today - our riding club member's show. I entered the 2ft and the 2ft3, and my main aim was to get round without us parting company. Secondary aim was to avoid run outs.
Warmed up for the 2ft class after quite a wait cos I got there too early (as usual!). Madam was REALLY chilled, and very well behaved in the warmup.
Took her in for the 2ft class which was being done as a two-phase. She went round clear, so on to the jump off. She was listening, did some amazing turns, and went clear with a quick time. Had to wait a while until everybody else had jumped, but WE WON IT!
I was very nervous about the 2ft3, but again she was a star. Went clear in the first round, then was unlucky to knock a pole in the jump off, but we still came 2nd! Again she was listening and did some lovely turns for me.
