After losing one of our outdoor cats (Bob) a few weeks ago (ages 15 from a blood clot ) we where unsure as to whether to get another, as his brother also 15 has never lived alone . He was coping ok , but was crying at night .
So I called the RSPCA to see if they had something suitable. They were glad to hear from us as a they had a large amount of unhandled /feral cats that had come in from a hoarder type situation. 40 cats living in one house, which as you can imagine was in a terrible state . Apparently you could smell the house from down the street . The photos the inspector showed me were like something off the TV. Boxes / rubbish everywhere. Cat poo covered everything. Such a sad situation. All the cats had been put in a private cattery, neutered, vaccinated and chipped . The inspector caught 2 and brought them over . So here we have Ronnie ( black one ) and Reggie
They spent the first week just hiding , rarely saw them . Then slowly they started to come out . We are now up to the point where they will get under my feet when it’s time for feeding . Ronnie has even started to brush up against us all . We are asking nothing of them and everything is on there terms
The best news is they get along just great with our old boy Bert . He keeps these pesky youngsters in their place with just a look . He seems happy with the company
They seems to enjoy living in the tack room
