Having lost our lovely dog george in May and my dad 3 weeks ago, it was time for the patter of little feet.

Spent the weekend looking for a new member of the family, the charities had no GSD/NI of a young age who were not reserved or generally had none which is good in one sence.

So despite not getting home till 1.30am due to car breaking down up the A1, her owners kindly met us at the service station. She is such a cutie the first day with us.

Dumb question: did you me the dam and see her at home? Do you know the parents' hip scores for a breed that is known for issues in that area? She's very pretty. Hope you have many years of love and cuddles!

No as explained above my car broke down in Grantham and I could not drive any further, so the owner drove her down for me to meet her. She said it was a real shame as she wanted me to meet the mother and the farther.

But she past her health check with flying colours.

She is missing her mum though, forgot what its like to have a youngster in the house, sleepless nights.

Yes I know about the hip score, sadly George had Hip displacia. He was rescued from Windsor. He did get a few issues in his older years, but did not affect him while he was young.

You never met the parents? Just for arguments' sake, how do you know it's not a puppy farmed dog? And puppy health checks are nothing like health tests. The advice is always to meet the pups and mum in the home environment. How did you pick her??

You searched for a whole weekend? Wow. That's not very long is it? Then you got a dog from a motorway service station without any kind of checks on where it came from, what health tests it's had, etc? Hmmmm.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Just because I said I had searched all weekend please show me where I said that was the beginning of my search???

How judgmental is that, you have no idea of the conversation between breeder and potential buyer. Well I suppose that is Horse and Hound for you. Put a nice picture of your new pet and get criticized on the turn of event that occurred leading up to monies changing hand.

I did not post on how long I have been looking
How many dogs I have seen before this one
How many checks on the breeder or dogs blood line

You wonder why ??? because Its no ones businesses to know unless I choose to share which I do not as I have had more important things on my mind recently than explain every minor detail on a public form which is known to have many people on it that judge you for any small detail.

Which is why I just posted the NTK detail only.

No wonder so many people leave this forum and never return.

Well its nice to know that there are some normal poster who just post the cute post without the the third degree
Sorry I do not have to justify or answer your questions.
The dog is registered with the Kennel club as is the parents.
