She's lovely and the different coloured eyes is supposed to be a sign of beauty, it obviously is in her case

I never considered the blue eye was anything other than a Collie trait and there for life.
She really has changed so much. Six months old now. Apparently I've made her a little soft as she loves fusses and cuddles, but she also likes to herd.....so hopefully she's not too soft to work the cows again from Spring when they go out.
She's practicing on the horses and Canada Geese at the moment!
She makes a blatantly obvious "rounding up" run down the horse field but luckily she respects the "come" command and leaves them when asked.
I just love her. I can't tell you how smitten I am by her. Never wanted a Collie before, but I'm seriously tempted to replace the other dog with a Border Collie when the time comes. He's a Cocker Spaniel. It's a toss-up between a BC and a Springer Spaniel. Decisions....decisions....

She is a fluffball. She's wearing a really cute bandana collar but you can't see the bandana amongst all of her fluff!

That's good to hear! I knew there was a reason I picked one with a blue eye....and it had nothing to do with owning a horse with a wall eye....honestly!

An old Welsh farmer I know won't train a collie or sheep dog unless the roof of its mouth is predominently black as that is supposed to be a sign of intelligence.

Funnily enough, we only said a similar thing a couple of weeks back. She has suddenly filled out. Went from looking like an older pup to an adult dog in a matter of days.
She's rather huge! All she's grown on is Beta Puppy. Nothing else. Seems to suit her. She doesn't have alot either, three pretty small meals a day and lots of running in the fields inbetween.
Certainly changed alot from the almost stuffed, dead toy she looked like the day we had her, sprawled on the lawn in that photo hasn't she? She'd just had loads of fleas picked off her in that picture and fell asleep whilst having it done. Bless her.

I know that too but for all dogs! Plus the knobbly bone at the back of the crown of the head, something about the further back it is the better!?

I know that too but for all dogs! Plus the knobbly bone at the back of the crown of the head, something about the further back it is the better!?

So how black is black for the roof of the mouth?
Just looked in Bess' mouth and she has one tiny little line of pale pink to the side of the roof of it and the rest is a brown/pink colour with little dots of pink around the back of the teeth.
Only looked for curiosity.
