Some of you might remember that back in August we re-homed a Springer, and I didn't post any pics at the time as we weren't entirely sure as to why he was rehomed. I think that enough time has gone by to show him you you guys now! He is called about 8 years old, and has confirmed our suspicions that he is trained to the gun by being wildly enthusiastic and selectively deaf (although fab at retrieving!) on shoot days! This is the boy yesterday morning. He is still hugely grateful to have a home, being a smiler and crinkling his eyes at you a lot! He is as wet as he appears, he'd been rolling in bader poo so I'd sent him into very wet marshy cover to get the worst off!

He looks really fab - very happy. Any ideas why he was rehomed? Sometimes dogs just end up unlucky or sometimes what one person considers anti-social behaviour another can live with. I've had a couple of rescue dogs who have had obvious quirks but the last two - well I just cannot imagine why ANYBODY would want to part with them! Maybe I'm bias

Keep the pictures coming - we all need a happy ending story at the moment

So glad all is going well - what a cracker you landed yourself with and gun trained to that!!!

But, I have just got to ask ---- why the rug?

He gets really cold in our shop (where they spend all day) and the utility room where they sleep at night (which is freezing as they've broken the dog flap again!), he also stiffens up at night. Believe me, we took a fair bit of convincing before putting a coat on a Springer, and needless to say the fat younger one we have doesn't wear one, except after shooting when they're both worn out, wet and cold! The pic was taken on the 'quick horse check' in the morning, which is between the utility room and the shop, therefore I can't be bothered to take it off for a ten minute run around!
