So on Sunday just gone, my stallion went a little nuts! I got off him because he was acting crazy and there was no one around and I didnt want any accidents. I decided to untack him and loose school him around the arena. Got the saddle off and put it down; went to take the bridle off and he just bolted and whatever way he ran he caught my left hand.
Went to the kitchen on the house the yard is on and stared to the wife and daughter that I think I broke my finger cue black out. Anyway, alright now but finger is in bits - completely swollen and bruised. Doctor says its not so bad just to keep it strapped up together because thats all he hospital will do.
Thing is right, what do I do with my 2 horses. One is supposed to be going back into the 1.10m/1.20m classes in September after being off for almost a year and I have a 5yr old event horse who is out for experience. My boyfriend can ride the stallion at home, but not compete as he is not experienced enough. But what do I do with the mare? Do I turn her out on a holiday? Give her to my instructor for schooling (prob expensive!!).
I do not know how long it will take my hand to heal (hopefully not too long) but the mare in particular is going very well and I want to give her all the experience I can before the eventing year is out.
What are your thoughts? What would you do?
Thanks
