I have a 4 year old Shetland Stallion!! He was never properly broken. I am unable to go into the field with him anymore as everytime I do he tries to jump up on me and bites! I really want to sort this problem out before I put him with a mare. Anyone who can help, much appreciated!

But if u put a mare in with him, he'll calm down as he'll be knackered from constantly chasing her round the field :D

Then get your carrot stick and chase him around a bit- sorted!!

Get your carrot stick and chase him :D haha

If you chase him enough, he might turn into a thoroughbred and then you can race him and make some money :D

When my shetland acts up i tie his front legs and his back legs together, this calms him down enough for me to sit on him and show him who's boss. He doesn't like it very much because afterwards he lies on his side and doesn't move much even after i get off him which must mean the technique works. He is very quiet for the rest of the day. I hope this helps much love and squeezes <3

If you don't know about stallion behaviour then you shouldn't own one. And you certainly shouldn't be breeding any more. Have him castrated.

Totally serious reply--my friend turns her rescued mini stallions out with 15.2 mare
They are hilarious and compete for her attention by building pooh mountains, each poos on top of other ones poo, maybe they live in hope of building it high enough one day.
