Depends, is he out on good grazing, and for how long? is he overweight?

As long as he has plenty of fibre, I don't see the need to feed anything else unless he's underweight!

I have no grass, they have a real of hay and get fed twice a day with alfa beet, chalf, graze on, pony nuts with a little bit of mixed feed. x
