Ooooh I've got the collywobbles too, just moved to lovely new yard but have got to bite the bullet and put the Willdebeast out with a gang in next couple of days.

Can you section off a bit with elec fencing and put him in there for a few days?

In any event all you can do is stick some boots on and cover him up with a rug or sheet. Get yourself a magazine and cup of coffee and watch, just make sure they are all hungry when they go out

I would not be using any sedatives on him at all! You would be better off dividing the field so he can get used to the other horses with the safety of a fence in between for a day or two.

Have they met over a fence? ie. if they've gone out in neighbouring paddocks regularily then hopefully they wont be particularily bad.

I wouldnt dope him, definately not. If your horse is dopey and a bit slow then Id say thats a target for being kicked! Just boot him up all round and put on a lightweight rug (to repel any little bites). Also if you put big piles of hay spread out then hopefully they'll find that more interesting. And then keep a close eye! But they should sort themselves out pretty quick.

would not use ACP but would use a calmer like equine amercia's so KALM etc, works differently from a tranquiliser..... ACP could make him dozy and fall over, something like a calmer will chill him out but he will still have his wits about him.
