My horse has a abnormal spine!
He has KS under the saddle area- Not severe and they mentioned could possibly respond well to cortisone but he also has a problem in his wither. Looks like he's had a fracture in this area and its not been treated at the time/healed properly. They kept asking if there was ever discharge from his wither(!!??) he'd have been at the vets a damn site sooner if there had been!
Umm, so not good really, not sure where we go from here. The vet wants to show the xrays to another vet who specialises in either backs or bones cant recall which!
They will call me tomorrow and tell me the options.
He's had a bigger dinner and an extra rug! (in my defense its colder tonight!) as I get a bad back myself and its no fun especially when its cold.

That's rotten , if it's any help my old boys mild KS reponded very well to cortisone injections.
I hope tomorrow brings a positive way forward.

Did it? I was really disheartened as we have a horse at work who had his back injected and it had worn off or not worked but had to be redone within 2 months.
The only experience I have of cortisone is that its amazing at first but becomes less and less effective so its good to hear of someone with a more positive story.
Do you mind if I ask a rough cost? I will of course ask the vet tomorrow if that's what they suggest but im so worried I cant afford it- especially right before Christmas (or right after I suppose)
