As above really - have been spolit at many livery yards i have been on, and my current one only has an outdoor arena, right next to the scary bushes ! - it seams to have done nothing but rain since i moved here, and the wind does blow - reminds me of being in Durham ! So how long before i stop being a fair weather rider and just get on with it ? Oh and do you get used to the spooky bushes eventually ?

Wiat til it's snowing! I used to live in Durham and rode quite near Whitley Bay in an outdoor arena all year round. When it's that or nothing you have to get on with it, don't you! What a secure seat you will have

after a while you just get so bored of not riding you will just do it XD do you hack in bad weather?

lots of people say riding in rain is good because it gets the horse to drop its head straight away XD

n think of the hedges as a good way of bombproofing XD

I used to live near Hamsterly Forest - and boy - if you did not ride when it was windy or raining then i think you would have to re-back your horse when you did ! lol

Funny it never botherered me when i was up there, but after 5 years of being spoilt with indoors...... its a bit too much of a bind - and i loathe cleaning wet tack !

Like you say though it should be viewed as character building, relationship forming and de-spooking!

Its very windy and raining loads though - think i will start tomorrow ! lol

I was at livery with an indoor and then moved closer to home with an outdoor only.
Blummin horse used to bronc when the rain was in his face, living in Lancashire, it happened regularly!!

So, I'm at another indoor place, even though I have a different horse who is not bothered by the rain. I think you get a bit soft once you've been spoiled by an indoor, well I seem to have done.

Never had the luxury of an indoor :(, an outdoor is a bonus round here!
I'll be honest, if its chucking it down, I often dont bother doing anything :o as I hate cleaning wet through tack.
As for the spooky hedges, we have them too all down one side. He has never got any better with one part of them and weve been there about 7 yrs! I have got better though at riding him past that bit though. I think he does it for effect really as sometimes he doesnt bother

We have an indoor and an outdoor!! I litteraly use the indoor twice a month sometimes never lol I much prefer to ride outside and in the rain ... im a weird person :D
