Outdoor Rugs for Winter!

Hey

Was hoping some of you could give advice on the best outdoor rugs for this winter?

My little horse has just moved to grass livery and this'll be his first winter out indefinetly! :O He's a 14.3hh cobby type and normally has a good thick winter coat. However he's 18yo now and I'll be working him through the winter therefore he may end up with a blanket clip

Looking for a MW/HW rug with neck cover (pref detachable) which will stand up to a Northern Irish winter! Budget is really £100 :S but prepared to go over...

I have the weatherbeeta tri star with the different weight under rugs. I must admit i got mine in a sale dirt cheap, but its brilliant as you can change the under rugs to lighter/heavier for if it gets colder/warmer etc, plus it has the detachable neck, and its had a hammering off my boy and there is no rips, tears etc. I also find it a really good fit and doesnt slip.
 
Premier Equine all the way for me. I have a fal, weatherbeater and a master rug and the Premier equine is the best of the lot.
 
My advice would be to look on E bay and get the heaviest gram fill you can. There are a few really good online shops on there, last winter i bought a 550grm and two 600grm brand new with tags, all had full necks and were fantastic rugs keeping my horse cosy warm all through the winter. They are durable and will definately be coming out again this winter! the 550grm was £25 and the 600grm's were £30. I had never heard of the make but i dont care cos the rugs are fab, i will never buy my rugs from anywhere else now, Happy shopping!
 
I have a brand new Dominick turnout that I bought for my mare but since she's been sold I think I'm just going to chuck it on ebay to get rid of it. Super rugs, 400gm fill but very light. Doesn't have a built in neck though you can buy separate covers for them.
