outdoor school surface on a budget

As title really looking at putting in outdoor school, but it would have to be on a budget any suggestions on what surfaces???

Any help would be great

I'd be very careful and at least get quotes from professionals. My friends installed their own. Cost twice what they thought, it freezes in winter and is too deep when it's really hot...............
