Over reach boots for turnout - Any recommendations?

I have to turn my boy out in overreach boots as he needs to be shod a little wide as he has crap feet!

I am constantly losing them or he shreds them!!

I tried white ones so I could find them.... but the plank was scared of his own feet as they were too bright... bless!!

Also he gets rubbed quite badly on the bulbs of his heals by them especially when the weather gets wet and muddy.
I would love him to be ouut 24/7 but at the mo he's in 1/2 the day so I can take them off for 8-12 hours!

Can anyone recommend any that are robust and tough but won't rub his poor little tooties!! Also need to be quite big so they just touch the ground!!
 
most people at our yard who turnout in overreach boots use the rubber ones, with the velcro fastening. If they fit well and are regularly checked they should be ok. and they are cheap enough that if they get wrecked or lost it's not going to dent the bank too much.

Neproene ones rub b's heels, but my old westrops never did.
what about them?

Woof Wear kevlar ones - brilliant! Tough as old boots (excuse the pun

) and they are quite big/long but you can cut them to size with a Stanley knife

I use Shires velcro ones - a size too big so they sit under heel & shoe. They are soft rubber & my boy wears his 24/7 365 days a year. Never had a rub in the 4 years I have had him!
 
I use cheap rubber ones and smear the top with vaseline to prevent rubbing. Have you thought about using the old school pull on ones that might not be pulled off so easily?
 
I second the woofwear ones - my TB has to wear them when turned out and when ridden and they are the only ones that don't rub. The velcro is really tough and he's only lost them once or twice when it's been really muddy. I find a pair lasts me nine months minimum.
 
Thanks for the advice, bought some more cheap rubber ones at the weekend, got XL and they're too small... GRRR
He's not even got cobby feet, they're only about 14 cm accross the widest point! They just all seem to vary so much in size from make to make!!

So going to try the woof wear ones I think!!
