Does anyone have any recommendations for over reach boots which are particularly suited to xc? My girl is irish with fairly well sized feet but is only 16.1hh so sizing can be a bit awkward!

Thanks!

I hate long over reach boots as they can tread on them too easily and trip.

I know they are awful, but for cross country I like the old clackety clack petal boots. They can be made to any size by adding more petals, but are not too long. The newer ones have a wider strap and do not clack as much!

I love my PE ones, I have an Irish boy who is about 16.2 with big feet and have an XL pair and an XXL pair but these are a bit too big.

My mare is 15.3hh and has to have XL size. I bought a pair of the Mark Todd kevlar boots for £16. They were okay, but one boot would constantly twist around and they didn't last long, maybe 3 months of daily use before they fell apart. I find that the good old rubber ones that cost a couple of quid are the best as it doesn't matter if you loose one, they give way easily if the horse treads on one and they are cheap enough to replace regularly.

I use woof wear smart xc boots, i was impressed with the professionals choice though, well shaped to the pastern. the woof wear sizing is awkward, the medium was absolutely tiny on my horse so he wears large, but the Velcros only just do up and are doubled over

I use plain black rubber ones - easy and cheap to replace and can also also trim to suit :)

I've tried other ones but always end up loosing one of a pair which is annoying!
Plus the plain rubber ones protect well enough & if trodden on badly enough they will break so less chance of falling because it :)
