My horse has pulled off one of his 'skiis' again grrrr.

I read somewhere (H & H I think) of some over reach boots that Show Jumpers use that wrap over the shoe, and are secured with tape. Anyone know anything about this system and whether any good for hacking / turnout?

I don't think it would work that well with long shoes. It'd be worth a try though if you could get hold of some cheaply.

Do a google search for "Scalpers"

I know you can get them with a velcro attachment system, which is more ecnomoic if you want to use them from turnout etc.

I do know a company that can supply, but cannot self advertise on here!

Have loads of the tape at the yard - will check the name for you.

Would the rubber band/strap heel covers worl better for you perhaps? I know our Cruising lad wears them for turnout as he has extended heels...

Googled 'scalpers' and got lots of hits for ticket touts! Perhaps you could PM the web link?

Thanks for all other replies - not sure if the kavalkade ones would be ok for all day turn out? I think he pulls the shoes off with the other front foot rather than actually over reaching as they are set wide at heels as well as long - pulled last 2 off hacking - we think both times when he spooked and shot sideways. He wears extra largeover reach boots in the field which seem to do the trick most of the time but if very muddy they end up like clogs!

Apologies if I'm just being dim, but I can't find that type of product on your website... I did google Cotswoldsport and got the website - but no sign of the heel thingies...

They look a much better idea for turnout than over-reach boots which either get trashed in a week or two, like clogs as soneome else said, with a huge thick layer of caked on mud!
