Over rugging ! How many rugs does yours wear in the winter months?

Hi,
My horse is fully clipped as she gets really sweaty when i ride her. At the moment she is in a medium weight rug at night, and if its not too cold during the day she is in a lightweight rug. She does well with them and when the weather starts to get really bad she will get her combo rug on.

Ours are trace clipped, wear one rug at a time, depending on what the weather is doing and we always use exercise blankets when they are ridden. I hate to see horses swaddled in so many rugs that they can hardly move. At the end of the day they generate the majority of their warmth from eating.
