Hi all,

My 14 year old ISH mare is now 374 days in foal. This will be her second foal but first with me. Not sure how long she carried for the first time as haven't been able to get in touch with previous owners. While she is big in size and soft/relaxed across her rump she only has a very small bag and has not dropped any milk to her teats yet. Has anyone experienced similar and what's the longest gestation you've experienced?

Any advice appreciated to calm a worried mind!!

Yes my went almost a month over with her first foal .
We knew the covering date because she was only covered once when they tried the next neither she or the stallion where interested she went I think it was 372 days .
She delivered a very large live foal however that only happened because we called the vet at the first sign of Labour and the vet arrived as she got into trouble .
If you have not already done so talk to a vet who does reproductive work just to get a decent game plan .
We did this and the advice call me out as soon as you think she’s in Labour it was good advice I think we would have had a sad outcome if we did not .
Are you sure the covering date is correct ?
