overgrown connemaras

Totally depends on the build I guess but A friend of mine shows hers as a show hunter and he does fab. Sorry no pics though.

I have one. Bought as a 3 year old at 14.2hh and has just kept on growing!! He is now 15.1hh and expected to make 15.2hh as he is now nearly 4 (his dam was 14hh and his sire was 14.2hh) I have broken him in this year and am hoping to do more with him later on this year, eventualy do some low level eventing with him!!

He is stunning!

Thank u everyone :) he is such a dude and a typical connie, sweetest temperament ever. He is by Pilgrims Excalibur and his dam is by boden park finnard! So he is reasonably well bred, no idea why he has grown so big, but I don't mind he isnt going to be used for showing M&M so it won't affect him.

Mine is just an inch or so overgrown in height but hes a very chunky chap hes 18.
He does a bit of everything would do a lot more if I were braver

Mine is 15.2hh Irish bred I do a bit of dressage with him, but he really NOT brave and can spin on a sixpence! photobucket playing up I cant get the code to post a picture!

I have a steel grey connemara who must be nearly 15.2 now, havn't measured him for a while!! He's quite well bred (sire Tulira Robuck and damsire Earl of Castlefrench) , dam and sire both 14.2. I got him as a foal and backed and schooled him etc. myself, he was so easy to do everything with. I've hunted him, done riding club, hacking, eventing and my sister has done pony club camp on him. He's going to do working hunter this weekend. He can be a stubborn mule at times, especially about ditches and water as he used to be a bit precious about getting his feet wet or mucky but we've gotton over that now!! He's turning into a great all rounder and is a real character- everyone should have an overgrown pony!! No pics atm I'm afraid.

ooh i forgot i had started this thread! lovely pics and thanks for sharing! :D Now I can add my own too!

This is Daz, he's not registered but he's connemara, and bang on 15hh, came over from ireland.

A breeder friend has a 16hh pure bred... stunning horse, brilliant all-rounder. She hunts and events him but he could easily do pure dressage as well.

I would dearly love a connie but not sure I could ever find one overgrown quite enough for me :D

I have a pure bred connie gelding but he is at the other end of the scale, tiny! He's 3 years old and currently stands at 13.1hh but is very bum high! Is there a limit as to how small they can be??

Heres mine (same piccies as usual but i really need to get some more up to date ones on my work pc!!) He is connie X but no idea what with! I think he has a real connie face but is slightly finer perhaps than a purebred!?

He is 14.3 so only a touch overgrown! He's 20 now! He events up to prenovice, has done a little bsja and is just generally an amazing fun allrounder. Great fun to hack and the biggest character. I've had him nearly 10 years :)

Overload sorry!!! You can see he is a very different colour in the winter!!!

I don't know Rosie's breeding but a lot of people say she looks very connie? She was sold to me as an Irish cross.
She's 15.2
