Hi, I have a section c cob who i have shown since he was 4. He is 9 in may and has recently had quite a bit grow spurt both upwards and out. I have re-registered him as a section D but i am unsure wether to still show him? He is only just over 137.2cms (13.2hh) standing at 139 cms. Whilst showing previously the section D's seemed to be alot larger and i am worried he will look out of place? I suppose it is judges preference. Does anyone have a small section D who also shows? does this affect how they are judged? He is the build of a section D just rather short. (lol) Is there much change as to turnout for a section D as there is to a C? I do know section C's tails are supposed to be 'diamonded' whereas section D's 'banged'. Any info would be great. Thanks!!

A friend of mine has a sec c stallion who is stands at 13.1-and-a-bit, and they always do very well when showing, she is hoping to qualify him for hoys this year.
She has not bred from him due to the situation with foals at the moment, but when it improves she hopes to breed from him as he has done extremly well in the show ring.
Another friend has a 14.1hh welsh d gelding who do well at county level and even he looks small compared to most of the other d's.
In the m&m large breeds classes, and the mixed welsh c and d classes i think the judges would probably just judge him as a larger c.

Hes such a handsome boy though! Good luck with the 2011 season! x
