Just wondering with regard to sleeping at long events such as the RC Champs etc. where it runs over 3 days. Why doesnt someone start a company with mini portacabins with beds in of some sort? So people who dont have lorries with beds in (like us folk with trailers etc.!) could pay a cheap fee (whatever is cheaper than having to get accomodation) to use them?

I think this would be a great idea! Considering they have to set up all that temporary stabling for the horses, surely it isnt difficult to do the same sort of thing for people?? I have almost thought about paying for a 2nd stable just for us to sleep in.....!!

Sleep in your trailer! I'm planning to at some point this year

Thing is I DETEST tents. Jeezus they are awful. Been there, dont that - never again.

And some of the time my horse goes in someone elses lorry so I dont even have the option of a trailer to sleep in (which I have also done and again, hated it!!!)

Staying in the lorry is just glorified camping. Think you are going to have to win the lottery, you could then stay in smart hotels local to the event whilst your staff look after the neddies and do the camping!

Can see where you are coming from with the portacabin type idea but somehow dont see it happening.

yeah yeah! Actually I was thinking of parking it in front of the house and getting OH to sleep in it to 'test it out'. Men love to 'test things' so let him!!
And KatB I'm not sure what you are laughing at - if we go to summer camp you might well be in it too - that is unless you insist on a tent - but then I'll cut your ropes in the night

We always used to sleep in our lorry. It was great fun.

Trying to find our lorry in the dark out of hundreds at Stoneleigh at 3am when pis3ed is good for a laugh! ;-)

PMSL!! If you sleep in it on the yard youd have G and J in there in minutes I reckon! That would be nice to wake up too.....

or in the burger van......

Haven't slept at a show since I was a kid, at the BSPS winter champs in 1987 we stabled at warwick racecourse and then mucked out the lorry, put down fresh straw and slept in sleeping bags on top of a new zealand rug!

Only really posh people had living compartments then!
BTW it was so cold that the milk we had for our cereal in the morning was frozen solid!
