Overnight Swelling

I have a little TB mare who a few months ago suffered a puncture wound to her left fore leg.
It healed quickly with strict management of her treatment and she was back in work within weeks.
She then came in from the field 3 weeks ago hopping lame with this same legs swollen down one of her tendons.
We treated this as well and for a week she was perfectly sound and feeling very well in hersef.
This week however when i go to put her out in the morning this leg is swollen but not in the slightest bit painful. She charges around on it in the field, lets you really squeeze right down it and inspect it without any bother. When I bring her in however its returned to normal and she looks 100% fit again.
I dont want to call the vet out unnecessarily as I have such mammoth vet bills from her puncture wound, if anyone has any experience with this could they let me know how they deal with this swelling or even what it means.
When she comes back in from the field she is completely clean limbed bar one tiny little lump on the outside of this tendon with is pea sized and again doesnt cause her any discomfort.

I would say the leg is still healing. It may appear all healed from the outside but sometimes these injuries can take a while to heal on the inside. The swelling is just the body trying to heal and protect the injury.

I would personally apply some witch hazel and arnica gel to the affected area in the evening and then bandage (also bandaging the oposite leg to keep the pressure the same) do this every day for say a week and then try not bandaging. If it fills again, you will probably have to continue bandaging overnight while in but stop using the arnica gel.

My TB has the exact same thing at the moment (same leg too) Vet has prescribed antibiotics and told me NOT to bandage. The leg is up in the morning (after being in) but goes down as soon as he's turned out. The tiny little wound which was obviously the source of the infection is healing over and I cover it with dry animalintex and vet wrap with his turnout boot over the top.

I can't afford to let him go out without boots on as it's only a matter of time before he nicks/cuts himself. This is the first time a cut has become infected and it's because I noticed it too late.

Hoping that eventually the swelling in the morning subsides and goes back to normal (I had been bandaging before Vet looked at it and advised me to leave it)

Migh be worth speaking to your treating vet again just to cover whether they think it could have injured the tendon sheath. You need to rule out any infection in that area.
