Well, thus far new pony has been great, although he did have a shouting match with his stable mate today when I took him for a walk in hand. He settled down when told though.

But despite pony's good behaviour, I have still injured myself! I went to view a lovely yard for once he's gelded. Managed to fall over and bash my knee on the concrete:( Naturally, I have been banging it into everything ever since... And then I almost put my hand on the electric fence:eek: Amazingly, the YO didn't contact the funny farm and has reserved us a spot.

So, what are your daftest injuries so far that are horse related but not down to the horse itself/riding?

I broke my leg walking from the field gate to the stable (about 10 yds) going to fetch a rope to take the silly old mare back out after breakfast. She would normally have gone with my hand on her forelock but for some reason decided not to. I was daft enough to be wearing my sandals instead of boots.
The mare eventually came out of her box to find out why I was shouting for help, walked past me with a disdainful look on her face and went into the field, as I hung on the gate to open it for her, unable to put any weight on the broken leg.

Was walking my youngster in from the field and just fell over thin air...flat on my face!! Onto the chunky stones and burst my knee and elbow, still scarred. Poor horse just walked carefully over me then stopped with a confused face!

I was mucking out in the winter. On my way to the muckheap in the dark, I fell over a tyre we used to keep the barn door open in the wind. I fell on my knee, and it was so painful that I figured I was going to faint. I went and had a sit down outside my stable, and ended up lying on my back with my feet up on my box of stuff. Cue entry of two other liveries, who looked at me like I'd gone nuts and were rather skeptical of my explanation. I was new at the time. Very embarassing but no long term harm done!

Not me (thnk you god!) but daughter was mucking out and gossiping at the same time and put fork straight through her foot, through the bottom of her boot and into a deep litter bed, effectively stapling herself to the floor. Friend thought she was messing about and left her there for ages!

My horse jumped a round of massive fences without touching a pole, I leant down and gave him a big pat on the neck as it was a rare occasion :p - then realised I couldn't move without experiencing a lot of pain :O I'd torn a muscle in my lower back... patting my horse :( I then had to dismount all crippled and walk horsey off on the lunge as I couldn't move ! luckily it was only small and healed up quick but at the time it killed.

I walked in to a stable door today, I swung the top door out and walked forward at the same time, expecting it to be out of my way- but instead it got wedged on the bottom door and swung back, straight in my face!

No running water in the field so go down daily to take a load of big 3 gallon bottles in. Pulled something in my back that really hurt, natural instinct is to drop the heavy weight that hurt you, so I dropped the bottle right on my foot. So now I am hunched over like Quazimodo and walking with a limp too!
