Just got back from my first ride this morning, clients new horse who chucked her off on sunday bolting into a fence....
I got on, with her on end of a lunge line in the school, and he was going beautifully, really nice. Just about to finish the session, when out of nowhere, ntohing spooked him, i didnt move or do anything, he bolted, looked terrified, spun and i came off, got my leg stuck in the lunge line and got dragged down the school

(on gravelly kind of sand so my arms and back are red raw )
I got back on and we said right lets just walk back to the stables, walking along didnt even get half way down the school and he did it again, thought i was gonna stay on but he put in one last spin and i came off and landed awkwardly on my lower back, couldnt move for about 20minutes

now cancelled today and tommorows rides and am in agony

Was very scary though, horse just literally bolted blindly, eyes disappeared into his head, so scary. Had has back teeth and saddle checked many times and nothing triggered it to start it off, but once its gone it gets worse coz it scares itself.
So yes, am in need of sympathy please lol

You poor thing!! Same as others dont do it!!! is there something wrong - do you think he s in pain somewhere?

Yes i'm ok no permanent damage, a very badly bruised lower back/hip/elbow and my skin is red raw (why do they put gravel in the sand of a sand school??) but think thats it - though i have to admit after the second fall i couldnt move it was so painful, thought i'd done something serious but after a while it got a little better, so think its just badly bruised and grazed.

Yes there was definately something not right with that horse, because everything was fine then it just snapped and went, and the person watching said his eyes just disappeared into the back of his skull and he looked terrified, and he felt terrified, its the first horse iv sat on that was a true bolter in the sense that it just bolted blindly until i came off.

Oh you poor thing, you are going to be so sore tomorrow

I recommend curling up with TV and chocolate. Oh yes and Ice not hot baths!

Hope you feel better soon.

Owwwweee you poor thing. Have you got any arnica? It sounds like the horse is really not right, has he had his head checked, behind his eyes for anything. It just sprung into my mind that the 'flipping' like that is like that racehorse that flipped over when the jockey got on..... I think that had a tumour or something. Sounds really scary, hope your ok

Yes that was a thought that came into my head also, as this horse really was not right, it wasnt just misbehaving, it was genuinly terrified but what of i have no idea.
Think its going to be turned away for a few weeks and then completely taken back to basic ground work etc
