Have 5 stables, one for me and three for a friend with 3 horses.
Have sourced shavings, haylage and sorted muck heap removal
Going to speak to local farmer about fertilizing etc
There is water to the fields
Have checked fencing and got a load of electric fencing to put up
Have all own mucking out stuff etc
Going to use spare stable as a feed room, have a large seperate locking tackroom

Is there anything else I need to think of? Moving them Easter week hopefully!

Very excited

Emergency cover, there may be times when both you and your friend cannot do the horses for whatever reason.

first aid kit and laminated list of emergency contact numbers including yours and your friends, vets, local police station etc.

also, find out if there is a Horse Watch scheme near you. Hampshire have a brilliant one with monthly bulletins and a great network so if anything gets stolen of broken into or if horses get attacked then there is loads of support for you.

We have white board to put numbers on, there is a small yard across the road that looks over on ours, we will speak to them this weekend to keep an eye on things. Have all the horse and a person first aid kit in my horsebox, and some extra stuff in my tack box!

Have also sorted Farrier and horse dentist - is it never ending????????

Get yourself a couple of motorbike security chains and some decent padlocks. Not cheap but if you are moving in soon chances are some git will notice and assume you have new stuff worth pinching.

Any toilet facilities? Loo rolls and hand towel plus a portapotty or similar if you dont have plumbing!

There is a big motorbike chain on the main gate, as the owner is an electrician, I'm going to ask him to put a CCTV camera up too - his electrical stuff is in a building on the other side of the yard so it would benefit him too!

He has put in a fully plumbed a loo AND a shower!! We have a nice lil kitchen, a locking tackroom with just a small high up window in - just need to persuade him to put a horse shower in now!
