Hi there, just interested in anyone who has a horse or had one with OCD. Did the horse have it in ONE joint only or was it in more than one joint?
I am asking for a friend really.... just want to put minds at rest...
Thanks peeps

Mine had it in both hind fetlocks. We had to be very careful with him but he doesn't appear to have it in any other joints. I'll be breaking him in this year so I guess time will tell.

Mine has it in both stifles... It seems more noticable in one than the other. Was given the option of keyhole surgery many years ago or to see how it went. For the work my horse does it so far hasn't affected him and hasn't undergone surgery - I suppose it depends on the work load and severity of the condition though

Thanks peeps, friend has been told it is only in one hock, hocks and fetlocks x-rayed, yet still looked bi lateral.....? Had arthroscapy in the one hock to remove a lesion, still on box rest.

My 10 month old warmblood was diagnosed with OCD in one hock ... I had the other hock checked aswell but touch wood showed no signs ... My boy had the keyhole operation in august and has a checkup this month and hopefully he will b ok ... They have said he may need the operation done again if the cartlidge doesn't heal itself and I can't ride him til he's 4 but he's worth it cause he is handsome ....

Hope all goes well for your friend I know how stressful and upsetting it is

Xxx
