ox blood chaps and KK vs NS bits. help me decide

Hi lovelies..

I have been told to go and find my self some things I might like for my birthday.

I have a pair of mountain horse short boots which are quite nice but they're a funny colour. What I would call ox blood coloured really. Has anyone ever seen any chaps or gaiters in a similar colour. I have trawled about for years looking and never seen any.

Also, BH has a hanging cheek snaffle with a french link. I'd quite like to upgrade him to either the NS version or the KK version (which is rare in the UK and is blooming expensive) or possibly the myler version.

Does anyone absolutely swear by one of these over the others? What are the pros and cons of them all. I'm not a bitting expert but the KK and NS look very similar?

I absolutely swear by KK bits! I put Starry in a NS and there was a significant improvement, changed it to a KK Dynamic and it was amazing. She was so soft and light and very happy in it.

I do think KK are worth the extra :)

ETS I am currently bitting my 2 y/o in a KK Dynamic and she is very amiable!
 
Don't know about the other stuff but my NS bit is one of the best investments I've made (apart from the horse himself of course!!). Obviously it's all down to if it suits the horse but my lad goes beautifully in his, it's a lovely soft mouth piece and even at £100 it was worth every penny!
 
Bit of a bump as I don't seem to be able to find ariat chaps in this colour at all. The conord ones look like they might come in something approaching oxblood but does anyone actually own a pair and can confirm or refute for me?
 
If you fancy a trip down to essex I think ingatestone have some in that colour, its only about an hour and the cafe is yummy (let me know if you do go as it only 10 mins from me ;)).

Hmm, I have some ariat chocolate chaps and chocolate heritage boots and I have to say, I don't think they are similar to the colour of Jesstickle's boots at all... Really not convinced they would match.
 
O dear. I seem to be thwarted. Will have to find something else for my birthday instead boo.

dh, I'll still come and meet you at Ingatestone one day though. I like it down there. I really want to go to Sandon too but not on a weekend apparently!
 
Never been to sandon so may have to venture there one day. Do you want me to see if they have them in ingatestone as I'm sure I will be there at some point this week as we are making the move today and I'm bound to forget something :rolleyes:
