As above really, was pointed to this product as a calming/concentration aid, mainly for warming up & dressage as b can get very distracted and worried working in around other horses and tension has ruined more tests than I care to count.

Anybody else used this product? Would be grateful to hear your experiences.

Thanks

I know lot's of people think its rubbish and shouldn't work but i swear by it for my mare. Tried pretty much everything and this is the only one that works............it's horse for courses though as i know other people who swear by others. Worth a try though as you don't have to buy loads and build it up, just use when you need.

I had really good results with it last year - but this year it has done nothing - however I think it is down to those syringes you buy as I used it out of the bottle last year with no probs and great results. This year I bought the syringes which are awful to use - too thick, hard to use and the top of one of mine broke off so I wasted a whole tube! The horses don't like the taste as it is so with a syringe that you can't use easily you are doomed!! The new syringes mean more of it goes down your arm than their throat!!

I read a scientific review about its use by human athletes and the view was that the science behind it makes no sense and it is a waste of time. Sometimes I wonder if these things aren't psychological - rider thinks the horse will be more relaxed - so it is?

Don't get me wrong. I would love for it to work - we have a very tense eventer - that's why I was trying to find out about it, so maybe it's worth giving it a try anyway. I'm a great believer in if it works for you...

I have been recommended it too and heard it was great stuff even for racehorses, I dont know about the science of it but I agree it could be the psycological affect!
It could well be a well marketed placebo but even if it is psycological and still makes the horse/ rider go better then its done its job and worth using

totally agree all above the syringes are rubbish but Oxyshot works a treat. Used in on a heavyweight cob that likes to tuen himself inside out at shows and it made a massive distance. He was still switched on but nowhere near as tense or worried.

Agree with everyone else. Fantastic stuff - really works on both my horses. Also agree that the syringes are rubbish - obviously designed with men's hands in mind. My fingers are too short and too weak to press the plunger. It takes both my hands but then you need a third hand to hold horses head down. Easy solution - buy it in the bottles and buy a separate cheap syringe. Problem solved.

Definitely highly recommend it

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately the cheapest way to try it in the first instance is to order the 3 syringes, so will perservier with them (delegate to tall strong yo) and if it works, will get a cheap syringe & a bottle.

Thanks for your help. Fingers crossed!!!!

Hi, Anyone tried the new Instant Magic syringes from NAF? I've also tried Oxyshot and have to say it didn't work for my stressy TB - plus I found the syringes a nightmare to use. But then I saw the Instant Magic on a "3 for 2" offer - I thought it was worth a go! Brilliant - much better dressage score, he seemed to enjoy the day more - and I know I did:) Plus the syringes were much easier to use, and the stuff didn't run down my arm like the Oxyshot used to!
Cheers,
K
