Decided to risk taking Oz up the yard as 9 days since his brief encounter with KC dog, and he was climbing the walls. However he spent the whole day on a suicide mission!!!

1st he walked in front of the vets 4X4, mind the vet must be blind not to see him, as he was in a bright yellow fluorescent dog coat. I had to jump in front of the vet car to stop him, and then the tosser started to drive on before Oz was clear. Oz now has mud tyre marks on his coat, but could have been so much worst. I did ask the vet (not mine) if he was trying to drum up business!!!!!

Then this afternoon when going to get Sparks in I passed a man with a Staffie. Asked the bloke if his was O.K. with dogs (Oz was lagging behind a little) and was assured he was. Next I her snapping and growling, turned to see Oz chasing the Staff!!!

Called Oz off, but was soooo embarrassed, the Stafs owner was pissing himself laughing.

The later one is rather classical, one owner asks if the other owners dog are okay with their dog and out of the blue, their own dog decides to do the growling.

They sure know how to keep us awake and alert, but I can't help being curious about what made the Staffy owner laugh. Unless it wasn't something like the simple "And then they say Staffy's are scary"

I'm not saying you didn't "understand" what you heard Piebald Easter, but most of my spitzes have/does growl-talk occasionally and that makes it more obvious to me, that a lot of dog owners aren't good at dog-language. So maybe you were lucky and met one that did know something about it, to many owners believes there's only one way to growl and that it "always" leads to pouring blood and death.

I think the Staffy's owner laughed because I had asked if his dog was O.K. with others (it was an unneautered male, which is why I had asked), yet it was mine that caused the trouble (or attempted to anyway). It wasn't just 'growl talk', though I do know what you mean, the little sod was snapping too.
