Plus is there anything else I should do for his foot. He has a little wound on the top of his paw, which he is making sore from licking it. I have cleaned it, put on Dermoline and wrapped it up. Will that do for now?

I would say that is fine for his paw, it will stop him niggling at it so it can heal a bit better - but I shall let Cala give the definitive answer of course

Completely off topic, but I am gutted you have changed your username again, there is a huge Magners billboard in town with 'Christmas Sparkle' in lights, was going to take a picture of it and everything!

Nice pup!

Thanks, he's a rather oversize JRT (stands just below knee height), his mum was a bit of a floosie and he is 2 to 3 times bigger than her, the rest of the litter and the dog which was supposed to be dad!!! Mum was also known to visit the Whippet down the road!! Had to raid the horse 1st aid kit to patch him up with!!!

It's best to stop him from getting at it, as u are....but keep an eye or get him checked, if it does not heal, as could be an underlying problem, or anal glands, if he is chewing or as u say, a simple wound that is irritating him.

He hasn't killed Sheila, just quietened her down a bit!!!

Foot looks been this morning since he has been bothering it. I left the bandage off up the yard to let the air get to it (as he was leaving it alone), but covered it again when we got home as he started licking it again. I know he look in the pic, like he is about to have his foot amputated, but it really isn't that bad (I don't think). Will get him down the vets if it doesn't heal though.
