Paul Chequer of Chequer Cabs, Bridgwater, appeared before the hackney cab licensing board yesterday, May 21st. Despite my best efforts, he has not had a permanent ban from driving taxis.
However, he has been given a 3 month ban from June 'til September this year, then has to have an updated CRB check. This is all I can do now - I cannot afford a private prosecution.
So,please, anyone who lives locally and recognises Paul Chequer; if you see him driving one of his, or anyone elses taxis, please do not hesitate to call the Avon and Somerset Police.
Of course, I've also informed the school transport authority (and told them exactly why this road rage incident occured) so that they may inform head teachers.
I'd like to thank everyone so much for signing my petition; it was handed to the licensing board and certainly helped. And just a general thankyou to everyone who has sent me kind messages over the last year.

Did he get a criminal conviction (sorry can't remember from the earlier thread) as if so this will show up on his CRB check and then the licensing authority can deem him an improper person to hold a hackney licence.

You may not have got real justice for his actions but you have got something, they obviously took his offence seriously and have acted on it. A short ban but it is at least a ban, they will probably keep an eye on him in future.

RIP Cindy, I hope you can move on now, you have done all you can.

Taken from the online petition -

We were promised a trial, due to take place on 28 May 2012, but, out of the blue received notification that a plea bargain had seen the charge go from 'dangerous' to 'careless' driving.......

For deliberately driving into an innocent animal - which is murder - he was fined £300 and had 6 points on his licence.

Not sure whether the licensing authority will see this as a serious enough offence to deem that?

I'm a believer in Karma, and so I'm sure there is a particularly nasty spot in hell waiting for him, and he'll get some of what he's due even before he gets there.
