pad for freemax

ive just got a freemax saddle for my gypsy cob and it looks and feels great
the seller sold me it with a shires pressure relief numnah the pad pieces are neoprene
Is this suitable or do i really need something else
can i put something like sheepskin under it
also how high should it be off his withers
