I had the saddle adjusted 5 weeks ago and today (due to being warm & in need of clipping) we built up quite a sweat. This is a faded old pad so I was worried when I took it off to see some obvious dry patches.

The channel down the middle doesn't bother me but the 2 dry patches near the front do.

I'll send a photo to my saddler but she's off tomorrow so thought I'd ask on here. 20260308_150649.jpg

Dry spots usually indicate excessive pressure or none at all. In your case, given the dry spots correspond roughly to where the stirrup bars would be, I'd be inclined to think excessive pressure and that the saddle is too narrow. I know you've only recently had it adjusted but perhaps the spring grass has caused a weight increase or your pony has muscled up more since the saddle was last adjusted. Hopefully your saddle fitter will be able to come and have a look in person soon.

I'd also send a pic to the saddler fitter. What a good spot tho!
I feel a bit bad that perhaps it has been a problem for a while. That saddle pad is ancient so very faded and the wet marks were very obvious.

Poor pony got grabbed this morning and had the pad (not yet washed!) put on him upside down so I could see where the dry patches matched on the saddle. I think it is a bit further forward than the stirrups but need to check with the saddler. It was quite a big alteration to the girthing because of his winter weight loss we did a few weeks ago so he could well have put weight back on
