Also posted in New Lounge 2, but thought the breeders might have more experience with this sort of yard equipment!

Hi, I am off to look at a second hand paddock sweeper today

, but have been thrown into some confusion as to how well they work! Does anyone have experience of them, or even paddock hoovers? I am worried that they might only work on very short grass

? Does anyone know of any particular good or bad points / models to recommend, or ones to avoid? Hoping to retire the fork and wheelbarrow, or is this a pipe dream

Hugely grateful for any advice / experiences! Thank you!!!

i had a waste warrior which i bought new, and it was a nightmare, really did my back in trying to tip it, didn't do a great job, and ended up just sitting in the barn while i did it by hand... so, i wouldn't recommend it!
i now do all the fields 2 x daily with hand scooper with big tubtrugs in the back of the ATV, which i use as motorised wheelbarrow... i whizz around the fields, fill the tubtrugs, and whizz up to the muckheap. easy peasy.

We've got one of the logic sweepers. It's really good; dead easy to tip, light enough to be hitched up by girls

, easy to start and control etc.

It works on the long grass 'toilet' patches (but not as well as on short grass) you just have to slow down so it can sweep all the muck up easily.

We currently have a Predator King Pro, really happy with it. It does find it slightly harder when droppings are very wet. It is a hoover type. We did have a different one before, also a hoover one but it was awful.
