My thumb joint gets really painful driving the quad for any period of time, its a bit arthritic.
I'm trying to think how I could rig something up so I could use the lever without my thumb doing all the work.
Has anyone had the same problem and found a solution?

I don't mean a medicinal solution!

Sorry can't think of lever substitute and my inventive OH is out at mo!
But could you buy a thumb splint, either with or without wrist support? or a support bandage - may lessen the strain on your thumb.

I think you just have to get used to it. I did get an extender for the lever to make it slightly more comfortable
If you're doing continuous work, like i just harrowed 2 acres today with my quad you can set the tickover so it just trundles along on it's own

Wow!! I get terrible cramp in my thumb after about 10 minutes, but I always assumed it was just me! Have tried crossing hands over (NB don't try that) and all-sorts to relieve it. Too scared to rig something to keep it depressed in case I lost control. Never occurred to me to look at tickover. Genius idea so long as that doersn't also result in me somehow rampaging off with the harrow...
