Pain killer after spaying?

Hi, my little girl was spayed this morning, I brought her home an hr ago. She seems ok, just sleepy.
The vet said she's been given pain killer which will wear off tomorrow but she should be ok. She said if I do want a few days worth of pain killer it's £18, I didn't buy it as I'm due to have a baby in 6 weeks time and trying to watch money.
I've got some pain killer left over from our other dog, (vet said its fine to use) only enough for tomorrow though. Do you think she'll be ok pain wise once it wears off?
 
Hi, we give our bitches analgesia with the pre-med, which is in the system for 8 hours, once anaethetised they get more analgesia which is in the system for 24 hours, we also send home with pain relief should they need it, it is just our practice regime.
Most dogs after 24 hours are fine and do not need further pain medication so she should be ok, just keep an eye on her, hope she has a speedy recovery.

As roanwitch says, our bitch didn't need more than one metacam dose to control pain
 
When mine was spayed she didn't have any painkillers.

The vet said if she had painkillers she was more likely to over do it, where as if she was a bit sore she would regulate her self.

She got home after her op, slept till the next morning and was fine.
