I had a jumping lesson with my mare yesterday. She was brill until we had to turn right and the end of the grid. She jumped the grid and when jumps were small 60cm cross we could just turn right at the end and left was no issue. Oxer at end was around 1m10 and we jumped it beautifully and went left. When going right we had the right leg but she couldnt turn (horse turned left) Then when we eventually got her to turn right we managed once but the next few times she knew we were turning right so ran out of the fence. As soon as we were going left jumped it no problem at all.
She has had physio out for sticky ribs a few times this year but not showing signs they are playing up like before. Do you think she was just being a naughty mare or do you think she was in pain and it should be investigated?
