has anyone heard of a veteran horse having a painful abdomen after changing feed from fibre care to spillers veteran mix. i changed my horses feed over 10 days ago and he has had a progresivly painful abdomen around the flanks area, since last wednesday. vet has been out done full bloods which show nothing, he dosen't have a tempreture, his wee is a creamy colour his stools are fine and he is eating well, any ideas ?

Hi Yvette - what makes you think he has a painful abdomen? Is he turning looking at his flanks and kicking etc as you would see in colic? If so, I'd be very suspicious! If he just seems tender could he have pulled something slithering in the mud? Did you change over slowly? I would have thought if you changed over 10 days ago it is unlikely to be that ALONE. Head scratching time...is there anything else AT ALL different that has happened over the last few days? No temp, poo normal, bloods normal, presume gut sounds etc normal ... weird, but I'd be worried!
