Painting an Ifor Willaims Trailer

Has anyone ever painted an Ifor Williams? I have one that the woodwork on the outside has faded and looks a bit shabby! The floor has been replaced etc and is otherwise fine but just looks a bit shabby. Any sugesstions?

On a site i was just looking at they did 'proper' ifor paint.Let me see if i can find it!!.

Yep a friend of mine painted hers, she wanted it a different colour so that it would stand out and hopefully deter thieves

Did she have to use special paint? Mine is one of the older ones that didnt have the plastic coating.

Not just normal paint as far I can remember, nothing special, hers is one of the older ones too, thats why she thought it needed a bit of a patch up

That was about 2 years ago and its still perfect now!

I had an Ifor Williams lorry with the wooden sides and I painted it with teak oil every spring. It gave the wood a deep shine and it looked like new for a while. Didn't take long either as the oil is very thin and goes on really easily.

I bought an old Ifor Williams about 12 months ago, it was about 13 years old, and the first thing I did was paint it.
I used black exterior gloss, so far so good!

My friends ifor faded, this was a few years ago she phoned up ifor williams and they told her to paint it with linseed oil - it looked fab afterwards

Yep agree with DieselDog, if it has the rubber coating then power wash it then paint it with linseed that you can get from a DIY store it brings them up like new, I've done it and it works a treat.
