Hi all was thinking of entering the pairs hunter trials at Gleneagles. Anyone know about the format of how you do it. Do you both go together or separate?
Any ideas!!

There are different rules at different places; you would be better phoning and checking.

NORMALLY you go round at the same time, some courses have 'dressing fences' where you get points taken off if your horses aren't together, these are usually nice wide jumps so easy to jump alongside.

At some courses you have to stay together the whole way around and I have been to some recently where you don't have to jump together at all but time starts from first horse leaving start and finishes when 2nd horse crosses line.

Whichever one it is, they are great fun!

ETA: last time I was at Gleneagles they did the 'dressing fence' rule but that was a few years ago.
