My usually unfussy furry dustbin has decided he won't eat the gut balancer I have bought him (at £60 a tub!!). Droppings have been loose for a little longer than I'd like. (Still well in himself, not dropping weight and perky)
Any gut supplement recommendations for fussy eaters with runny bottoms??

Have tried all the usual tricks. Mint, molasses, apple juice, cored apple etc!

I use Pink Powder, it settles my boys tummy down and stops the squits when the grass is at its best. He looks very well on it, not sure how palatable it is because he is not exactly fussy but might be worth a shot as its not mega bucks.

Another vote for Protexin, it really does work and my ponies will all eat it dry with their balancer, you only give a small amount anyway. It's also really cost effective to feed!

Our mare adores Protexin quick fix - tried to eat the entire syringe along with the contents. She generally will eat anything anyway, but I've never known her quite so enthusiastic. So if you dont have any luck with the protexin gut balancer, maybe give the quick fix a go? It worked very quickly for ours.

My lot are on Science Supplements Gastrokind. I was a bit unsure of how well it would be received when I saw the size of the scoop, but they all (including the fussy ones) ate up without so much as a sniff.

That's exactly what mine has but won't eat! Really rate science supplements and use lots of their products but this is the only thing he turns his nose up at. It's a shame because their quality products!

What a shame! I use a lot of them too, and really rate them - particularly the joint supplement. Have you tried the Gut Balancer? May be worth dropping David an email - see if he might send you a sample to try
