ok so murphys loaner fell off him today after he bolted, and now im just really panacing and feel so bad, he is a strong boy and very forward going (he is a typical jumping pony) im just so stressed out, calling dentist tomorrow! and another question can you only have physio out with vet referall? sorry pointless post really as rather it would of happened to me :-(

We used to have our physio out as a routine thing every three months without referral so you'll be fine :)
I'm afraid I dont know much about you OP and I'm glad you're making sure he's okay first before blaming him, but I used to have a pony that was very strong and whizzy and if you didnt check him regularly when cantering he'd run away with you so don't panic too much. If she's nervous after falling off maybe you could give her a few lessons on him to help her get her confidence back :)

I wouldn't blame yourself. Horses bolt for many reasons from spooking to physical or psychological pain.

Before you go spending lots of money, ask your loaner what happened when he bolted. If it was for no apparent reason, I would consult your dentist and get a saddle fitter out first.

I think properly qualified physios do need an initial OK from your vet to start working on your horse - if you are concerned something physical might be causing the behaviour they might be a good place to start anyway.

I'd also take care over describing him as a bolter (unless he really was running flat out straight with no sense of his own safety), lots of horses will tank off if something triggers them too and the rider can't stop immediately, proper bolters (luckily not too common) are extremely dangerous and shouldn't really be ridden IMHO.
It'd be a shame for your horse to get a reputation he didn't deserve.

he is just so strong and gets excited and he does have sense of safety, just that sometimes when you push him into canter he gets quicker and quicker and quicker.. if it does come to me not having the time for him do to a levels uni ect i am seriously considering having him pts as i know he would be past from pillar to post all the time :-( i feel so deflated :-(
