panacur5 day administering Q

as title...have 5 ponies living out, to do with panacur 5 day wormer.

if i was in a hurry for a couple of the days can i administer the daily dose with a syringe?

(it takes longer than you would imagine to get each pony out of the field and make sure they finish their feed each one at a time)

Yes, my old boy would not eat his dinner with it in it (he was fussiest NF pony you'd have ever met!) So I always had to syringe it.

Ive never put wormer in the feeds, my boss always does, with whatever wormer she uses, but I like to make sure it has all gone down the throat not been spat over the side!
I didnt realise Panacur guard was designed to be put in the feed? Ive never used it!

Tbh, I would be wary of syringing panacur 5 day by syringe unless the horse is very cooperative with meds syringed. Being a liquid it easily runs out of the mouth and then the dose isn't correct.

Don't suppose it;s feasible to halter and tie them? Give it in a small tasty feed. Adding brewers yeast, linseed and or salt always works for me. I use speedibeet.

yes,it`s in liquid form and comes in a little bottle and you give the required dose everyday for 5 days.

one of mine doesnt like it so last time i used it i mixed apple juice in aswell and he didnt notice.

i am going to buy a syringe so i can do them all quickly.

Having just used it I would agree with amandap and say that unless you have v cooperative horses it would probably just run out if you syringed it! I fed our 4 a tiny handful of mix with the wormer in it (which took no time at all to eat!), followed by their proper feeds.

Yes my old man (32) will not eat anything I try to hide in his feed to has to be given in a syringe anyway Have to say he is VERY good when having meds syringed !

i usually hold the head up with normal wormers anyway,just to make sure it doesnt come out again.
