Paper Bedding - advice please !!!!!

its ok but not brilliant only had to use it cause i had a horse that wasnt aloud no dust near her

I love paper bedding, but it often winds up blowing all over the yard and looking a bit untidy. Found it soft & easy to muck out. Only other problem is the ink--have heard from others that it can mark light-coloured horses. Also, paper with red adverts, etc, have given me a few heart-stopping moments where I think a horse has bled on the bedding.

I use paper bedding for all of my horses and love it. Its easy to muck out, soaks the wet really well and keeps it in a patch, and its cheaper than shavings.

Down side is that it does blow about the yard so I keep my beds well away from the door.

I love paper, yes it does blow about a bit and it can be heavy when wet, but those are only two small cons. My mare is filthy (grey

) and she was fine on paper.

I used to work on a yard that used paper and I loved it, although i used to get extremely annoyed with the long shreds as thats like mucking out hay! But the smaller squares are amazing. Looking into trying to find an office block that fancies giving me theres at the moment... Like the idea of mixing it with shavings... How have other people got theres supplied? (assuming thats how youve done it)

i use paper for my mare and she is also on rubber matting i really like it she is very clean on it and it isnt dusty.

Its the only bedding i have known her to lay down on at night time

Have used paper but prefer cardboard--cut in small squares
Pony was a little scared initially as the new bed was crunchy
Quick to muck out, doesnt blow like paper, rots down quickly in muck heap, warm and comfortable--my cats are frequently found 'nesting' in it, they never slept in a shavings bed.

We used paper on the old yard, as the all the eventers. Loved it, can use it for small beds with matting or make nice big bouncy beds. Can get heavy when left wet for a long time (eg deep littering) but I would def reccommend it, realll easy to muck out!
